Issues Class meets the first Sunday of the month. April 3 - our guest speaker will be Beth Mary Snyder with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. April 10 - Dr. Ariarajah, theologian, will be our guest speaker. April 17, 24 - Charles Wiley continues facilitating the study on Resident Aliens. CHILDREN/YOUTH: PreK -5th grade – downstairs glass classroom Middle School – youth area High School - youth area CHILD CARE is provided for children age 5 and under during worship services and during Spiritual Nurture time. GOD CONNECTIONS - children ages kindergarten through 8th grade - meets at 5:30 PM on Wednesdays for a time of music, drama and creative arts. PRESBYTERIAN YOUTH CONNECTION (grades 6-12) meets during the school year after the 11:00 worship service (approximately 12:15-2:00 PM). RSVP to Allan Podbelsek at 245-6248 if you plan to attend or need a ride. SPRING CLEAN UP DAY - SATURDAY, APRIL 16 - 9 A.M. - NOON We will be working inside and outside. Bring your work gloves and outdoor tools. LUNCH AND LEARN - The worship ministry team invites anyone currently or interested in serving as usher, greeter, sound tech, power point, communion set-up, to a lunch from 12:30-2 PM Sunday, May 1, for a light lunch. Afterwards there will be short breakout sessions. SPRING LUNCHEON - MAY 14 at NOON with Shannon Cogan. Cost: $15 person. Tickets available in April. ACTIVE IN THE WORLD FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS - All items donated to the grocery cart will be given to the Portland Avenue Presbyterian Church’s food pantry. There is a need for: canned meats/fruit/vegetables, peanut butter, tuna, cereal, rice, or macaroni and cheese; and personal items such as shampoo, toothpaste, dish soap, deodorant, laundry soap, etc. Especially needed are linens and towels. ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING OFFERING supports Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and Hunger Programs. Thank you for your generosity. GUATEMALA 2016 TRIP - The next meeting will be at 7 PM Sunday, April 3, at the home of Trent & Lynne Browne, 4102 Cliff Edge Lane. For information call 339-0186. PRESBYTERIAN DISASTER KITS - We are collecting items for hygiene disaster kits. You may either donate items separately or complete an entire kit - put in a one gallon zip lock bag - which includes: 1 hand towel 1 washcloth 1 bar of soap (bath size in wrapper) 1 wide tooth comb 1 toothbrush (in original packaging) 1 nail clipper 6 Band-Aids Items/kits are due by April 17, and should be placed in the box in the gathering area. KROGER REWARDS - If you shop at Kroger be sure your Shopper’s Plus card is registered to Springdale’s account. Funds received support the PYC mission programs.
