How do I register my child? Click here! Registration is open until July 1, 2022. If you are registering more than one child, please register each child separately. When is camp? 9am-3pm on July 25-29 at Springdale Presbyterian Church
How much does it cost? Registration is $25 per child. Checks can be mailed to Springdale Presbyterian Church (7812 Brownsboro Rd. Louisville, KY 40241) or dropped off at the church. If your child wants to participate and paying the registration fee a challenge for your family, scholarships are available. Email [email protected]for more info.
What ages are eligible to participate? Day camp and the performance are designed for children who have completed Kindergarten-8th grade. If your child is outside of that range and would like to participate, contact Ms. Nell ([email protected]).
Will there be auditions? Yes. A link to audition signups will go out to all registered participants at the beginning of June. Auditions will be on June 30 and July 5 at 6pm at the church. Children who choose to audition will be expected to read lines and/or sing a solo from the show. Children are NOT required to audition to be in the show. Auditions are only for those who wish to have a solo or speaking role.
Is Springdale being COVID conscious? YES! Springdale Presbyterian Church operates according to current CDC guidelines. All staff, congregation members, children, volunteers, and visitors are expected to be vaccinated and masked when on the church property. At this point, all camp activities will be masked and socially distanced. The planning team will plan to reevaluate as the CDC releases updated recommendations closer to the performance.
How can my child prepare for the musical before camp? As part of the registration cost, participants will be provided with a script and a cd so that they can begin learning the show prior to the week of camp. Scripts and CDs will be available on July 1, 2022 at the front desk between 10-2 on weekdays.
Does my child need to bring anything with them to camp? All participants are encouraged to bring a mask, water bottle, and a packed lunch.
Will the performance be available online? Yes! The performance will be live-streamed through the church Facebook and on YouTube. After the performance, the videos will remain on these platforms so that you can revisit and enjoy them later. It is our hope that livestreaming the performance will make the production accessible to friends and family that don't live locally.
What will my child be doing during camp? Your child will participate in devotions, creative arts, music rehearsals, stage blocking, environmental education, and service projects.
Will my child be safe at day camp? All volunteers who work with children are required to commit to the child protection covenant and submit to a background check.
What does Springdale Presbyterian Church believe? We believe that we’re called to the ministry of love and reconciliation in the world through our Lord Jesus Christ, and that includes everyone. We believe that the diversity of our world is a gift from God to be embraced. We celebrate our human family’s full diversity of race, ethnicity, refugee or immigrant status, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, spiritual or faith history, economic status, marital status, physical and mental ability, and education. We welcome all who have previously known the pain of exclusion, discrimination, abuse, or intolerance in either the church or society. We affirm that all people are created in the image of God, are loved by God, are called by God, and are deserving of love and human dignity. Because of that, we welcome all people into full participation in the life of the church.
I have other questions, who do I ask? The Director, Nell Herring, is happy to answer any questions that you may have. Contact [email protected] and she will get back to you as soon as possible.
