Growth & Outreach Committee
The mission of the Growth and Outreach committee is to help Springdale Presbyterian Church fulfill their motto: Open, Loving, Thinking, Doing.
The committee, in conjunction with other committees in the church and its leadership, work to develop and implement outreach strategies to expand the church's visibility in the community by participating in community building events. We also involve our members in welcoming new and potentially new church members to not only make them fell welcome but also to help them use their talents to feel a part and become involved in the life of the SPC congregation. The GO committee has several annual events in which the congregation is encouraged to participate. Spring: Health Fair for adults and children, which is held at the church for the community Fun evenings to include trivia game nights and other game nights to encourage the church members feeling of community Late Spring: Church Potluck to be held outdoors, weather permitting Pride Parade, which is held in downtown Louisville in June. The congregations of several Presbyterian churches march together for this event. September: Pride festival, which involves LGBTQ persons in Louisville and surrounding areas and their families and friends. Springdale hosts a booth and provides the community with information about the church and its mission. Fall picnic which, weather permitting, is held outdoors. Early Fall event: This year (2024) it was a cruise on the Belle of Louisville for members and guests. Youth Support: The committee supports our youth by marketing their fund-raising events, etc. |
